WELCOME
The Center of Excellence in Glass Teachnology and materials Sciences (CEGM) is a specialize unit in faculty of science andtechnology, Nakhon Pathom Rajabhat University (NPRU), Thailand, has been established in 2007 at NPRU. CEGM is a consortium between a group of academicians from Physicists and Chemists at NPRU,founded on four pillars: Glass Science and Technology, Thin film and Surface Coating,Opto-Acoustics Study on Materials, Applied Radiation Physics Study on Materials. The research interests of the GMSRU are as follows:
- Development of glass materials such as synthetic and imitation gemstone, lead and barium free crystal glass,radiation shielding materials, scintillation materials and glass semiconductor etc.
- Applied radiation physics such as determination of effective atomic number(Zeff) and related parameters of materials using theoretical calculation and experimental setup
- Development of conducting thin film by various techniques such as sputtering/deep coating techniques
- Opto-Acoustics study on materials for determination of physical, mechanical and optical properties of materials
- Science education on glass and materials for local community around western Thailand
- Developing/Elaborating appropriate Master and PhD programs to ensure the research unit operates successfully. These programs are to be designed to be highly attractive to excellent students
CEGM research facilities consist of high temperature electrical furnace in reduction and oxidation atmosphere, x-rays fluorescence spectrometer, uv-visible spectrophotometer, abbe refractometer, scintillation detector,multi-channal analyzer (MCA), radioactive source, gamma-rays spectrometer and high performance computer, thinfilm sputtering instrument, ultrasonic source and detector, laser source and detector, in our 5 laboratory ;
